Arm Holdings Ltd. (NASDAQ: ARM, hereinafter referred to as "Arm") today, in collaboration with ecosystem partners, launched the latest Arm Automotive Enhanced (AE) processors and virtual platforms, enabling the automotive industry to apply at the beginning of development, helping to cut development cycles by up to two years. Arm's Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Automotive and IoT Line of Business, Dipti Vachani, stated: "The automotive market is undergoing an unprecedented transformation, with increasing demands for automation, the pursuit of more advanced user experiences, and the trend towards electrification, driving explosive growth in software and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Given that automotive electronic systems are becoming increasingly complex, to accelerate product delivery, we need to fundamentally rethink the development process."
The new generation of AE processors introduces Armv9 architecture technology and server-level performance for automotive applications for the first time. Arm brings Armv9 architecture technology into automotive applications for the first time, enabling the industry to benefit from the advantages of the new generation of Arm architecture, such as AI, security, and virtualization capabilities. To meet the growing performance demands of today's vehicles, Arm leverages its leading edge in the infrastructure market to bring server-level Neoverse technology to automotive applications and launches new Cortex-A series products based on Armv9 architecture to achieve scalability. The full product range includes:
· Arm Neoverse V3AE: Arm introduces Neoverse technology into automotive applications for the first time, bringing server-level performance for AI-accelerated autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) workloads.
· The first batch of Cortex-A processors based on the Armv9 architecture specifically tailored for automotive applications:
-- Arm Cortex-A720AE: Brings industry-leading sustained performance and SoC design flexibility to a wide range of software-defined vehicle (SDV) applications.
-- Arm Cortex-A520AE: Provides leading energy efficiency and functional safety features, fully expandable for various automotive use cases.
· Arm Cortex-R82AE: Arm's highest-performing functional safety real-time processor to date, introducing 64-bit computing to real-time processors for the first time.
· Arm Mali?-C720AE: A configurable image signal processor (ISP), optimized for the most demanding computer vision and human vision use cases.
· A series of configurable system IPs, enabling the Arm chip ecosystem to offer scalable, high-performance automotive SoCs.
These technologies are currently adopted by leading manufacturers in the industry such as Marvell, MediaTek, NVIDIA, NXP Semiconductors, Renesas Electronics, Telechips, Texas Instruments, and others. The road ahead: Arm Automotive Computing Subsystem (CSS).
